The University of Newcastle – Ourimbah Teal Space

Collaborative completed the construction of the new Technology Enabled Active Learning (TEAL) spaces at The University of Newcastle Ourimbah Campus. This space was designed to provide the students and staff with a education experience that emphasised active learning – where educators and students engage through practical work, collaboration and a degree of autonomy.

The works we completed included the construction of a new 450sqm room, with 5 metre high ceilings, in the middle of an existing building. While the fitout works themselves were conventional, the extensive use of AV and IT technology to provide an fully integrated system was a large step forward for the University and a trial for a number of future innovative projects.
